Hilarious? It's much more plausible than the idea that they gave it to her for her on-track accomplishments.

Let's be serious, they gave it to her for 'intangibles' and supposedly 'creating fans', so it sure as hell isn't far off to say that her dancing was part of the reason she won.

We all know why she won, and we all know who should of won, I got the joke I just didn't think it was funny.

Old timers used to say 1 lb = 1 length. That means she lost by 3.....

Scale weight is not considered handicap weight . Old timers know that.

Wasn't Victory Gallop a two year old in 1997?

I would have thought Formal Gold or Silver Charm.

Horse A and B were Awesome Again and Skip Away.

1998, Skip Away won HOTY despite Awesome Again (who took a very similar route to Blame) winning the Classic.

1997, Favorite Trick won over Skip Away despite Skip Aways dominant Classic win at Santa Anita.

Is it possible voters regretted not giving the award to Skip Away the year before and despite his loss to Awesome Again felt he deserved a HOTY?

Is it possible voters felt Zenyatta deserved a HOTY title because of her impressive 3 years of consistency?

Does history repeat itself?

Too many questions.
