It might have been an every other race deal because the Stone colors were worn in the Haskell and Super Derby, while Hancock's colors were worn in the Travers. Hancock's colors were worn in the Blue Grass and Derby; Hancock is superstitious, so he probably didn't want them changed for the big race.
