The Irish colt (Frosty Giant?) was unproven in Europe but looked like he could have won the thing had he not been squeezed in the lane.
No way no how. I know this is hypothetical and I actually liked Frost Giant in here but he would not have beaten English Channel. Maybe that pinching cost him 2nd but EC was a winner no matter what. Disgraceful excuse for a grade 1 race on what was supposed to be Super Saturday. Good prep for EC and you never know, any of the Americans (EC, Cacique and Tin Man) can win with a little luck. And that bump at the start of the Arlington Million didnt cost EC a chance at the win in my opinion. Hes good but not good enough to chase down the Tin Man after allowing him to dictate the race. Bump or no bump, I doubt he was any better than 3rd best. |

Seems like a small field. Small field, pace can win the race. Tin Man could get some easy fractions if no more than 7 show up.

Have EC bring that rabbit with him LOL Seriously tho if any horse can get out there and run faster then 3 hr 1/2 mile Tin Man is done Cacique is gonna be 2 or 3 from the lead ready for the stalking trip
This probably will be a big field alot of horses have a good chance plus could get a few Euros over, not like the sprint where only 3 or 4 horses look far above the others |

If they bought AI to be a rabbit...they need to have a jockey on him that knows the meaning...someone call Tommy Turner. ![]() |

Sniper there is no reason for that unless that horse runs faster then he did in the last race. The Tin Man ran a faster time in the Million then the rabbit did.

EB...that is EXACTLY EC's game. Sit two lengths of the leader...make sure decent fractions are set...and then make the move. Just like the Canadian Turf at Gulf...like the Woodford at Church...like the UN at Monmouth. Chasing SLOW fractions...Manhattan and Arl. Million...he is not gonna go by them. These top flight turf horses are gonna be tough to pass if they are allowed to set soft fractions. |

If he sets faster fractions than he did in the Million...he certainly can. |

No one was getting by TTM after those very slow fractions....plain and simple. He is too good a horse for that. |

Would probably have finished second without the interference in my view, but only just ahead of the placed horses. Certainly no threat to English Channel. Frost Giant is well down the pecking order, not just in Europe, but in his own yard. Gawd help us if he's good enough to go close in a BC race! There wont be much of a European presence this year. Hurricane Run may go if he comes out of the Champion is decent shape. Although the Arc-Champion-Turf proved pretty disastrous for the same connections' Montjeu. And he was a fair bit better than Hurricane Run. Not sure what the plan is with Shirocco after his lifeless display in the Arc. Red Rocks is reliable and should prove better dropped back to 12f, as I don't think he lasted home in the St Leger. He shouldn't really be good enough though. |
