But it was such an awesome day. I was like "what I have I got myself into?" when I left a warm, sunny Auckland and got to Christchurch - it was 7 degrees Celsius (about 40F I think), windy and raining, and a duck waddled across the paddock as I was walking through the gate at the track! But the racing made it worth it. The rain stopped in time for the big races as well.

Apparently Jimmy's going for the Derby now. I'm a bit unsure about that. He's a BRILLIANT miler, but at a mile and a half against Lion Tamer and He's Remarkable? I don't know. I'd prefer to see him stick to shorter distances. His dad, Thorn Park, was all speed. I don't see stamina in his pedigree.

But he's a wonderful colt, and good luck to them.

About 500 miles, so just over an hour in a plane.

I usually go down for the whole week, but the friends there that I stay with are overseas at the moment. So I'm just going to the two Saturdays this time.

So I won't see tomorrow's G2 Mile, which Wall Street won brilliantly last year with Tell A Tale second.
