|   I didn't watch ESPN, so I don't know if it was brought up at all...but what a few days for Garrett Gomez.  Falls on Thursday and is taken off the track in a stretcher after his mount breaks down and rolls on him.  Wins with his first mount back the next day and then takes down 3 Breeders Cup races.   Pretty cool story. |

|   While sad on its own, I wouldn't call Rough Sailing exactly a break down...I'd call it a career-ending but freak injury that can happen in any sport.  When it's a horse, it can be life-ending. We've seen BC breakdowns...that was not in the same league. |
