If one reads Seth Hancock's comments on Blame, he agrees that his horse is the obvious choice. I think Blame deserves it, but think there are way too many turf writers out there who think Zenyatta needs some sort of lifetime achievement award that Blame is going to finish second.

I don't know. I think it's close either way. If she's better than him it's not by much.

And it's terrible, idiotic, completely unjust thinking if you believe she should get it as a lifetime achievement award.

I think I would agree Blame had a better year. He beat QR on the square... He won the CLassic. I would not have any problem if they give it to Z though. I think its legit that it could happen.

How on earth do you write these two sentences in one post about HORSE OF THE YEAR?

You know what Im trying to say.
Its an injustice if she never gets a HOY awards. Blame is slow and would be the worst HOY I can recall, likely ever.... Give it to big Z.

Isn't hall of fame the lifetime achievement award and not HOY?? I dont' get that. Zenyatta will will certainly get her lifetime achievement award when that time comes. It would be comparable to Nebraska winning the national championship in 1994 as people felt sorry for Osborne for never having won one at that point instead of giving it to the best team.

I think it could happen, but it wouldn't be legit.

Zenyatta and Rachel will be up for Hall of Fame nomination in the same year. The voting on that will be interesting.

Really? The horse was babied a bit, but 9 for 13 and never out of the money in his career isn't disastrous. He beat older's twice on two different surfaces quite easily at 3. He's pretty good.

You have to start thinking with your head instead of your heart.

Why did the Moss's decide to send Zenyatta to the BC? Answer - a win would sew up HOY. That's been their frustrated quest for the past 3 years. She didn't get it done. Should she win HOY based on lifetime achievement? That isn't what HOY is about, and you know it. Her races prior to the Classic were not worthy of HOY contemplation. A loss in the Classic, regardless of how close she came to winning, is not a good enough reason to vote her HOY. I would be surprised if she does win. Not saying it's not possible - just not probable.

I doubt that Drape and Hovdey voted for RA last year.

This is a truly bad opinion. Get some perspective man, a lot happened before 2003.

It's funny you think Quality Road and Lookin at Lucky would be worthy, yet Blame literally knocks Lookin at Lucky out of the way, and a search party is looking for Quality Road and Blame who urinated on both of them
isn't worthy?
