I wish they would just show the race live the way we are used to seeing it day to day. I hate all the crazy angles. Use those for replays.

I love it at the end of the race as a replay... but there was some race this year (Derby maybe?) where they kept going to overhead shot during the actual running... and I could not tell who was who!

Everytime they shift, the viewer has to re-oriente themselves and figure out who's who. It might only take a second or two, but it's annoying. The tracks are in the business of showing their races and I wish the national coverage would use their production for the race. Replays from the overhead, the inside the rail cam and all the other stuff is fine for afterward but if I bet on the race - and I intend to bet on the BC - I want to see it presented as I am accustomed to viewing.

What ESPN doesn't realize is that viewership is down because BETTORS are going to simulcast facilities so they can see the track feed. Most simo's will also have ESPN available for the post race analysis if you want it.
With internet wagering so widely available, you would think that horseplayers would be staying home (or gathering with each other in homes) all across the country next weekend, but they won't. While "will pays" and "probables" are available on most ADW sites, the familiar views of the paddock, post parade, warm up and the actual race will all be missing or replaced by something inferior or confusing.
