In comparison, Belmont, paid $11.60 for wire jobs and $10.80 for anything off the pace.

![]() A simply astounding performance. Should be a wakeup call to the industry including that in NJ. I understand it is possibly a one shot deal, especially with the state's problems. That said I am hoping other tracks do similar meets.

Maybe Gomez doesn't want to compete with NY jockeys...he wasn't the "star" at Saratoga. |

![]() I was able to speak off hand with Gomez in July, and I asked him how he enjoyed the meet so far. He said, while he loved the area and had high hopes for the meet to go on, his comments were basically a 5,000 claimer is a 5,000 claimer regardless of the purse, so he spends more time in the jockeys room than riding.

![]() why do you give away "trade" secrets? thats how half of these people bet. they become a "fan" and bet their favorite horse or jock. something you'll never, ever make money on.(over time) yeah. we need gomez really bad in ny.....the only one that had more bad rides at saratoga was lezcano. he maybe the most over rated jock around. who cares where he rides....fools that bet jocks..thats who.
