Even when the American Muslims (of course, super-tame) are asked about whether Hamas is a terrorist group, they shy away. Shows me they accept terrorism if they think it helps their fellow Muslims. The "religion " was started by someone who believed in terrorizing people into joining his hate group. Can't be shocked that his followers are so reluctant to disagree with the parts of the Quran that encourage terrorism. It's so much easier to deny he meant what he said, and say he's misunderstood. I find the Koran-burning pastor issue fascinating because it doesn't neatly divide people into their usual ideological camps.

You have people on the right who support him because they vehemently oppose the mosque in NYC specifically and Islam in general. But you have other people on the right who oppose him because Petraeus (and others) say it jeopardizes troop safety.

Then on the left, you have those that oppose him because they see it as just more right-wing, anti-Islam nonsense. But you also have those on the left that support him because they don't particularly enjoy the military telling people when it is okay for people to exercise their rights.
