Anyone that pays attention to stuff couldn't have been too surprised. Pletcher has been talking about running in the Whitney then the Woodward since before the Met Mile.
I actually do recall Pletcher's plans for QR, call me sceptical if you want, but I didn't think he was serious of running QR 2x within a month and then go into the classic on almost 2 months works.
