I actually do recall Pletcher's plans for QR, call me sceptical if you want, but I didn't think he was serious of running QR 2x within a month and then go into the classic on almost 2 months works.

Why not? He plans on running Discreetly Mine in the Sprint without a prep. Quality Road ran in the Hals Hope in January and then the Donn a month later.

Seems like they planned out a schedule earlier in the year with the goal being the Classic. They want him to be fresh for the Classic and with this schedule he will be. Will it work? Who knows but this has been the plan whether you choose to accept it or not.
