Funny I thought Oracle was gone from here.
Never has pitched well in important clutch situations. Only when they were severe underdogs. She turned witch when the team wasn't supposed to beat the Cubs, and the Cards. When they were given a chance in a series, she choke.... Always...It's 100% nerves.

My Mom & brother were at the game last night.

I text my mom close to 10pm & ask what the score is

From: Mom "Losing 9 to 2" 9:57PM

so I figure its basically over & go watch Law & Order SVU

another text

From: Dan "We scored 8 runs in last 2 innings to win 10-9" 11:02PM

First thing I thought of was you SCUDS.. You are definately on to something.

If it wasnt the Phillies that had come back to win, I'd feel sorry for you.

But Brad Lidge is my closer, so we have some things in common.

I swear the Phillies could be down by 47 runs in the bottom of the 9th to the Dodgers and still they would believe that they could come back & win.

of course!

the scary thing though, if it was an away game.. we could score 48 runs in the top of the 9th to take the lead, and Lidge would come out and blow the save!

Broxton faced five batters and retired none. Citizens Bank Park is officially in his head.

The fans mockingly chanted Broxton's name as he threw ball after ball. He hit Placido Polanco to lead off the inning. He walked Mike Sweeney in an epic nine-pitch at-bat. Werth walked on five pitches to put the tying run on base.

Ben Francisco hit a sure double-play ball to third base that skipped right through the legs of Casey Blake and into left field. Two runs scored and the stadium - half full because fans had left following another distasteful display from the bullpen - was as loud as it has been all season.

Joe Torre came to the mound to talk to his pitcher, but never had anyone warm up. This was Broxton's game. His 22d pitch, an 88-m.p.h. slider, was smashed by Ruiz.

Werth held up at second to make sure it fell. He was almost passed on the bases by Francisco, who was running at full speed all the way. They both scored easily.

Hamels has been nothing short of dominant lately. I think he even hit 96 on the radar last game.

Its too bad that he's lucky to get 1 run from his offense though.
