Its an insult to the HOF. He was a good NBA player, who without Jordan would have been average and NEVER EVER EVER EVER WOULD HAVE WON A TITLE. I hope Jordan takes a big shot at him, I think MJ is doing the speech or whatEver for him. Last edited by RockHardTen1985 : 08-10-2010 at 02:38 PM. |

It isn't a matter of liking him. But he was clearly one of the best players in league history. Name a better all-around defender.

This is the key when discussing Pippen. He was obviously somewhat limited as a half-court offensive threat, but not many guys could legitimately guard the other team's point guard and their power forward (and the positions in between) at such a high level.
He was a great one-on-one defender, a great help defender, a great full-court defender, and a great half-court defender. You couldn't ask for any more on that side of the ball. |

That was my answer as well.....unless B Russell is allowed?
This will set off an explosion but Hakeem deserves at least honorable mention. |

I would still take Pippen. Could guard 1's, 2's, 3's and smaller 4's. Interior defending is easier than perimeter defending. Though it is really splitting hairs.
Interesting no one said the obvious name. MJ. |

Can you name all the forwards in NBA history who had more steals and/or more assists than Scottie Pippen?

Hint: It's a trick question.
