![]() I’m really not saying that Gio Ponti is overrated. Would it be an upset if he gets beat? Yes, and for me personally, I’d like nothing more than to see him back in his 2009 form, and kicking ass – see my first post – and hopefully he will be. However, he lost by a head at Tampa Bay (when he went off at 1-5), and was second again in the Manhattan, a race in which he beat Interpatation, who was checked sharply in that race, but the same Interpatation who upset Gio and a host of others in last year’s Hirsch. Also in the Manhattan was Expansion, who Gio beat by just one length. Also, rain is likely Saturday, and Interpatation and Grand Couturier both like a soft course -- Interpatation's upset last year was in the rain, and GC was third that day.
