Very well could be. After a second look, it seems as if he was screened a bit by the two players between the shooter and the goal. That may be a part of the reason for the slow reaction too.

Does anyone ever think about trying to stop a guy when you they are beat by half a step instead of stopping, rasing your hand and cry/beg for an offsides call all while the forward is taking a shot a point blank?

What a kick to finish it - Can you find a more dramatic finish. Suarez will be a hero back home!!

I bet he wasn't thinking he was going to be a hero when Gyan stepped up to the spot....but yes, in hindsight, he saved the game.

No matter what he did what had to be done. The game was over if he doesn't use his hand. It was the ONLY play. It was a very smart play, even if it was instinct.

I loved the call of the fourth goal by Martin Tyler, "Brilliant...wonderful...glorious...Germany!" as Klose was putting the ball in the net. His timing was perfect and I thank ESPN for hiring these guys they have calling the play by play.

This World Cup has been terrific.

Spain - Paraguay had its share of twists and turns.

Yes we were handed our boarding passes by the Black Stars but the quality of their team could be seen in their matches vs Germany and Uruguay. We could be well be ready to take the next step up in Brazil in '14.
