![]() Affirmed, he beat Spectacular Bid in the 1979 JCGC but was Affirmed the better horse?
Blood Horse doesn't think so. I wasn't alive back than and am curious to hear if you agree with Bloodhorse and why or why not? |

![]() i'd have to go with spectacular bid. a top four year old will beat a top three year old. the loss to affirmed was the last that the bid would ever suffer. he went undefeated at four, winning a rare walkover, and setting a still-standing world record for 10f. he was an amazing horse. and saying he's better (imo of course) takes nothing away from affirmed, who was one of the best ever.
