If those who support illegal immigration could find a legal way to change the laws to make it easier for foreigners to get passports or whatever documents they need to be in here, that would be better.

But if illegals can be rewarded and/or overlooked for breaking the law by crossing the border, then why do we follow any law?

So if say our border neighbors were the country of China or Iran or Africa and they were just flowing across into our country without papers would that be ok ? I dont think this is racial profiling considering the border country is Mexico and that they are brown or tan or off white . If you dont have papers you dont belong . If you came here and squeezed out a kid then you have no regard for your child knowing you could be sent home for not being legal and be separated form your child if you dont choose to take them with you .

My family came over from Whales and Englad thru Ellis Island and setteled in the state of Pennsylvania as farmers and machinists , we came thru legally not knowing what lay ahead. Maybe they should re-open Ellis Island and have people come thru there again , but no its easier to just sneak in , get a fake S.S number and act like you are owed something for your time.
This doesnt just apply to Mexican people , it applies to the people I know on the track who came over from the U.K with Darley who just stayed , you dont belong go home and get legal.

I dont feel that a child born to a non-citizen should be a legal citizen. Lots of women from a certain country cross our border so that happens. They know what they are doing but it still should be illegal.

I think the rule is if the mother breaks the plane of the border or the Rio Grande, "it's good" for 6 points and legal citizenship for the child.

LOL isn't that a two sided coin? Danzig made a great point of that not too long ago. We all do it. Conservatives act like the founding fathers stumbled upon the burning bush and from God's lips came the constitution and it should be adhered to strictly...until it doesn't fit some far right or bible belt agenda. Liberals (I say "we") think it is open to interpretation and change and then hide behind it when it suits some "we are the world", save the seals thing.

I think we have come a long way as a society since a group of white men with wigs, false teeth and bad breath had the ONLY say in the way the country was run. Is it fair to say that maybe, just maybe, the constitution might be a bit...outdated in some spots. Maybe?

They have committed no crime, and had nothing to do with their parents decisions to commit illegal acts. Hard to take rights away from a certain group of people based upon what their relatives have done. Multiple Supreme Courts have looked at the Civil Rights Act (post Civil War) and the 14th Amendment that solidified it many times. Hispanics are far from the first group to be targeted by others in this respect.
