So basically the teams HAVE to spend a certain amount on their payroll and CANT spend more than a certain amount all of which is based on guaranteed shared revenue. So how exactly does an owners individual wealth matter when signing FA's?

Now the extra's like stadium deals, payroll for coaches and staff, facilities, etc can no doubt be affected by an owners wealth but I dont see how an owners individual wealth matters in matters of free agency. It is really the main reason why the NFL is such a competitive league and there arent any FL marlins, just mismanaged teams (Redskins)
Speaking of the skins, they practically gave away campbell. A fourth rounder, two years from now, for him. Was that the best they could do??

The Bills have been bad for years. Do you expect it to end soon?

Wow your wishing death on a person? This Ralph person must really in whatever his position is with the Bills. Is my man from Penn State still playing linebacker for the Bills?

Nice try on spin dirtbag. Maybe you are stupid enough to extrapolate my simple statement as wishing death on someone but I don't think others are. You would sound less like a hillbilly if you can learn the difference between your and you're

I like that he put forth a strong opinion on the Bills without knowing who "this Ralph person" is.

You expect anything different? Bills continue to draft for ticket sales instead of need. If they played their cards right LAST YEAR they could have Jason Peters And Michael Oehr. Instead the have a 230 lb Defensive End and a flashy running back that isn't considered an every down back.

Looks like you and the Bills have something in common. No brain cells. No wonder you like the Bills.

Thank you very much and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. You know what I could care less about the Bills. All I care about are my Pittsburgh based teams, since I spent my life near Pittsburgh before I joined the military. Before anyone else says anything Big Ben got what he deserved and I hope he learns his lesson and becomes a productive person off the field.

I was serious about thinking that was pretty good for him. Didnt think they would get anything better than a 6th or 7th round pick for him or simply be forced to release him. There are lots of 4th round picks playing in the NFL that are a whole lot better at their position than Jason Campbell is at his. He really is better suited as a backup though with the raiders he is like Johnny U compared to what was taking snaps under center last year.

I thought the Skins a$$ raped the Raiders on that trade, and they are usually the ones on the other end of the transaction prism. 4th and 5th rounders are not picks to scoff at, they are the ones that the Eagles usually hit on. They are not a 'bag of chips' or whatever Ateam described as giving up for Santonio Holmes.

How can anyone not love the Santonio Holmes deal? In his prime, signed for one year at pittsburgh money. If he sucks, you let him go. If he is what he has been, you have a topnotch receiver. There is NO RISK and incredibly high reward. This deal alone would be a successful offseason in my book. Throw in the other parts and it is a total slam dunk.
They aren't looking for him to be TJ. Shonn Greene is probably going to be the man this year with Tomlinson coming off the bench. That being said, I thought that they should have kept TJ. But I think that they could have done a lot worse than Tomlinson as a backup. I believe he still has a little left in those legs.

TJ didn't want to be a backup. I'd rather have Tomlinson as a willing backup than a disgruntled TJ. Also, people continually fail to recognize that TJ ran behind the best run blocking line in the NFL and Tomlinson ran behind the worst. That's going to make a huge difference, although the Jets' run blocking got weaker with the release of Faneca. Even at his best, TJ was always a product of his blockers. If he gets 3/4 of his '09 production with Kansas City, I'd be shocked.
