We sure got lucky last year when there was an 80% chance of rain for the Derby. I remember standing outside the gates at 7am in the rain, after rain all night Thursday, most of the day Friday, and all night again Friday. It quit about 7:30 and didn't start back again until 8pm.

That rain last year Friday night was like a monsoon, too.

So much so that the track was still sloppy 12 hours after it stopped. It rained constantly and hard for my entire 6 hour drive, all night, and all the way back home. How we avoided it in that 12 hour window as a miracle.
