Because we are Americans and we help people in need. The "we shouldnt help them, what do they do for us" attitude is beyond moronic. The fact remains that the US does far more for the world in general than any other nation. Which is what made the Obama apology tour such a disgrace for those of us that understand the previous sentence.

"One of the first countries to offer aid, Cuba offered to send 1,586 doctors and 26 tons of medicine. This aid was rejected by the State Department."

Arent you tired of America taking care of everyone else. Maybe if we took care of our own thier would be less homeless people on the streets at night. Maybe the needs for food pantries would get lower. But just like every other President has we kiss eveyone else's ass.

So you are in favor of Medicaid, health care reform, etc?

Im not in favor of health care reform. I agree with people needing health insurance but why should the taxpayer pay for someone who can work and doesnt want to work. Im sure O'Dumbass is going to make an attempt to include worthless illegals in the health reform.

"Maybe if we took care of our own thier would be less homeless people on the streets at night".

Do you like that insurance companies can cancel working people who pay their premiums on a whim? That people can't get insurance due to pre-existing conditions? That insurance costs are rising and more and more cannot afford to buy health insurance?

Health care reform mostly has nothing at all to do with poor people or people who do not want to work.

No, that is specifically excluded. As has been discussed in EsoCent before.
