great post. We should all be greatful that we live in the greatest country in the world. The majority of Americans take it for granted.

The luckiest thing that happens to most of us in this country occured the second we came out of the womb. We were born in a wealthy, free country.

Instead of comments like nascar's "now there will be less haitians to try to illegally enter our country now", we should be greatful for what we have and try to give to others who were not as lucky as we are. The children who are currently dying under the rubble in Haiti are no different than the children in school in Florida, right now enjoying recess and a nice meal. They were dealt a bad hand from the start.

Oh bullshit. This country is on the verge of bankruptcy and we still give 800 million of aid initially and China gives ONE. MILLION.

China will actually make money on this disaster.

We better save ourselves and stop worrying about 5 million people who are from a country that has historically been filled with corruption and shows no signs of progressing into the 18th century, much less the 21st.

There are over 6 billion people on the planet and the rich are hoarding their money and buying all of the natural resources for a reason. To waste money on Haiti after they have had 200 years to get their **** together is retarded. Your government is already doing a fine impersonation of Rain Man for you. Just watch.

Have a heart. Our government pisses away 800 million daily on **** that doesnt do any good for anyone except for Riot.

At least this money is being put to good use. Just because China isnt doing anything doesnt mean our country shouldnt either.

We are the most compassionate world leading country in the history of human civilization for a reason, though for some reason democrats think because of waterboarding guys who flew planes into the WTC, we are evil.

We shouldn't do anything because we don't have the money. It's foolish to borrow money in order to give it to Haiti. We've been far too generous with that country. Hell...Bill Clinton enabled Aristide to steal $800 million and flee to Africa.

It's ok to have a heart but it can be very dangerous to have a heart and no brain.

A tragedy can always be turned into a political victory.

You will see thousands of Haitians immigrating to Florida. Unclytrust will probably change her tune in 10 years.

There is no way I voted for Obama. I am a huge McCain fan. & I am against the Spendulous and the Health Care Revolution and big government spending.

We give $100 million to Detriot to pass out condoms. spending 100 mil to our government is equivallant to me dropping a penny out of my pocket.

If you give me the choice between spending 100 million to pass out condoms, or 100 million to help save thousands of lives, its really a no brainer choice.

And its not through our Government where we can do our best help. government usually screws up anything it touches.

Charities, volunteers, 20 bucks to the red cross, etc. is a much better way.

honestly, if the dont give it to Haiti, do you really think they will just not spend the money in general? Obama spends like he's on an unlimited shopping spree.

I have a big issue with the 2 TRILLION he spent this year on spendulous and health care (coming soon to a crumbling economy near you). I just dont have an issue with this, just like I didnt have an issue when we sent relief to the tsunami victims.

Your right about the government not having $100 million. I guess O'Dumbass thinks our government has the money. Why would he care its not coming out his pocket or the rest of the Democratic morons. Hopefully the lady in Massachusetts loses the election for Senator. If im right O'Dumbass doesn't have his 60 votes which means hopefully he can take his health care bill and shove it straight up his ass along with the rest of his Democratic morons, who hopefully wont be in office much longer.

The Red Cross is corrupt just like the government. Oh how quickly we forget about 9/11 and The Red Cross. Just pull a Riot and google the s.hit.

Yea, this whole giving American money to countries affected by natural disasters is a really new, groundbreaking socialist "goof" thing to do.

Christ.

I get what you mean, but it's hardly like this is a novel idea perpetrated by Obama. A $100 million price tag is small compared to some disaster relief efforts in recent years....what a goof.

it was one thing in the past to give the money. now America's in trouble and you don't have the money to give.

Coach is making the argument like you are, and I get it.

However, he's damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. He'd be pilloried if he got on TV and said "this is a great catastrophe...but we don't have money, so we can't aid efforts there like we always have done for other countries in the past."

I'm sure Malkin, Coulter, 86 people on this board, O'Reilly, McCain would all leap to his defense.

Its not that difficult for people to donate $1, $5, or $10 or $20. it adds up!

They have corruption problems that money can't solve. Our own country ranks around 4th in GDP, but is like 92nd in distribution of wealth. Long as we don't pay attention to that, we will have a Gov't in debt and/or have many areas that look like Haiti always has.
