Stute drilled him days after the Malibu? You think Stute found the Sheppard piece entertaining?

I'm confidant that owner-breeder Bo Hirsch would disagree with you. The Malibu is the last Gr. I of the year for three year olds, so he was able to end the season as "Gr. II winner, Gr. I placed at 3". They're trying to build a resume. And I'd say that an old school-style trainer like Stute is quite happy to go from 7f to 8.5f second off the layoff. This is the "Strub Series" after all... It has a rather time-tested aspect to it.

I really don't get the last time to get a G1 on him against 3 year olds. Is anyone going to think of Papa Clem as a great 3 year old. Moreover his best chance to get a book full is to be an excellent 4 year old and potentially be arounf for a BC race. Will see I realize my opinion is deemed moronic by many.
