A field goal can only be blocked @ the line of scrimmage per NFL rules.

I was told by a very reliable source, that the crossbar and uprights are to be treated similar to the goal in basketball. No player can touch a ball that in the officials view could actually touch the upright or crossbar. Similar to goaltending rules.

It is defined under the definition of the goaltending, Doc. Rule 12 section 3 article 1 sub (s) GOALTENDING

That's the rule they used for Prop's on the field as when Ochocinco slipped the ref a single dollar bill. In this case the player isn't using anything other than his body....no big deal I Just wanted to actually read the rule that dealt with blocked kicks
