Yes, I brought Carter up first: once, in passing, in reference to Obama, saying he understood the middle east was complicated. YOU have brought Carter up repeatedly ever since, probably a ten to one ratio I have said I didn't vote for him, and I didn't agree with his mideast policies. I've read two of his books (because I'm interested in the politics of the middle east).
he thinks Israel was the worse perpetrator of human rights violations in the world worse than f'n Rawanda and burning tire necklaces! If that's understanding the mideast is complicated?

Knowing the middle east is complicated is one thing. What exactly one does in the middle east is another.

I still love Don Rumsfeld. You know? Because there are things that we know we know, and things that we know we don't know ....

It is obvious. The planet is both warming and cooling at the same time. The debate is just beginning.

I think it must be cooling because it's snowing here in Beaumont today

lol i just had to put this up...a group from around the world goes to copenhagen to discuss how to cut emissions. yeah, they're serious:

Majken Friss Jorgensen, managing director of Copenhagen's biggest limousine company, on the climate change conference, from the London Telegraph (Dec. 5):

Jorgensen reckons that between her and her rivals the total number of limos in Copenhagen next week has already broken the 1,200 barrier. The French alone rang up on Thursday and ordered another 42. "We haven't got enough limos in the country to fulfill the demand," she says. "We're having to drive them in hundreds of miles from Germany and Sweden."

And the total number of electric cars or hybrids among that number? "Five," says Ms Jorgensen.
