Does anyone actually have an even remotely non-partisan analysis of this bill? Seriously, I'm trying to educate myself about the details, but a youtube video of Michelle Bachmann is not exactly where I'm comfortable finding my news about the ins and outs of this bill.
Brian: I realize that I'm a neo-con to most here but it doesn't take a partyline
view to see this bill is so flawed, that it should be buried at sea. Just the simple math doesn't work. We all know that everybody has a spin on it, but when the govts' own CBO gives the literal acct'ing of the merit of the bill, and the president disses it, it stinks! Notice how I didn't pile on.....
I would welcome a serious change to healthcare and tort reform and people not trying to screw the system, but it's taken 50 yrs to get it this way...don't crush the system by creating a monster that will never be balanced or controlled.

Ok, it may be flawed -- in total seriousness though, where is there a thorough, non-partisan analysis of it? I'm having trouble finding one because the bill cannot be ALL bad, and the bill cannot be ALL good, but no source I'm finding will give me the honest analysis of both of them without resorting to using some sort of scare tactics.

And seriously, neo-con, liberal, or not, when Michelle Bachmann is our "source," there's a very, very serious problem brewing.

If we're gonna to skip the politics, we have to go with the math! Since when
does the office entrusted with the analysis NOT be the trusted answer?

Remember that now the Senate has to stuff all that Insurance industry lobbying money received in Joe Liebermann's mouth to get their version passed, then it goes to Committee, and maybe we'll see some good healthcare reform in 2013 or so. The bills are available on the US government website if you are really brave. The following is helpful as to some details:

http://wonkroom.thinkprogress.org/20...e-health-bill/

Igor Volsky's article lists 10 things the GOP asked for, and got, in the House Healthcare bill.

LOL, without a day off for the next three weeks, I was hoping to save myself the time of reading all 1,900 pages Thanks for the link though -- trying to take in as much as I can to figure out how I feel about it. I'm knee-jerk in favor of national healthcare, but would rather get a good idea of what's actually happening in the reality-based middle between my first instinct to support it and those on the other side screaming about mandatory abortions, sex changes, and grandparent killings.

Brian: it's the same as it's always been...the people in Congress mortgageing
the futures of the generations to come! This time it's a paradigm shift, though.
