in the slop...There are a ton of horses that hate the slop. Is slop really considered dirt, because a slop race, like a poly race, are run completely different from a fast dirt race

I wouldn't necessarily say that as fact. Turf horses have always come and tried the dirt in the Classic because of the purse and other, not sure what Gio Ponti has done on the dirt, but I am guessing it wasn't good, but for 5 million, people do crazy things.

I agree, except I don't think he has a shot to win. Even if he handles the synthetics, he's now going to make the jump from a mile to 1 1/4.........He's just so lightly raced and that's a huge concern to me as well.

http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...toward-classic

Z "definitely leaning towards the classic". I'll believe it when i see it..

the best part of this whole article is:

"She has a great shot to win the Ladies Classic, which has a very large purse. But the Classic is an opportunity to try to garner Horse of the Year honors, and to not run her when she’s doing so well would be a mistake. Mr. Moss said it’s not about Horse of the Year as much as it is to see her compete at the highest level.”

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahaaahah!!

The group she beat was one of the worst I remember. What happened in the Ballerina? Everyone says Indian Blessing is done, she was no where NEAR HER.

Im looking at the nomination PP"s and just a few thoughts so far....

The Juvenile Fillies Turf appears to be loaded.

The Ladies Classic is a JOKE WITHOUT ZENYATTA.

Aidan O'brien looks to have the top contenders in both Juvy Turf races.

I dont know much about Fleeting Spirit, but he was the chalk in the turf sprint last year and appears to be in better form this year. Just watched the replay and he def. broke slow last year as well. I think Gotta Have Her has a huge chance. There is also a first time Mandella that looks decent, cutback and look back to the turf sprints in the PP"S.

The turf looks kinda shitty, I like Spanish Moon.

Fleeting Spirit is a 'she'.. Might be a good starting point in the learning curve.

I think I bet him in his last race on this surface. They have an excuse for it? The grade 3 win on this surface may have been a unique surface (opening day, and way back rating off a hot pace...Gomez was riding like Jesus #2 that day.)

Yup. The slop and the field had everything to do with Informed Decison's one win on dirt. She is an awesome synthetics horse though.

I'm not sure but hopefully it was because his connections realized that if he couldn't finish in the money in the Oak Tree Mile with the setup he got then he probably doesn't belong in the BC.

Sweet Hearth won't travel to U.S. for Cup
By Alan Shuback

http://www.drf.com/news/article/108493.html

Sweet Hearth, pre-entered in both the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile and the Filly & Mare Sprint, will not be traveling to Santa Anita for either race as she scoped badly on Thursday at her training base in Chantilly. Her trainer, Alain de Royer-Dupre, promptly withdrew her from consideration.

Sweet Hearth had finished second in the Group 1 Prix de la Foret on Oct. 4 when she was headed on the line by Varenar while finishing a half-length in front of Breeders' Cup Mile favorite Goldikova. Her defection means that there are now only two French-trained horses left in the Cup, Goldikova herself and her Freddy Head-trained stablemate Only Green, who runs in the Filly & Mare Turf Sprint.

The withdrawal of Sweet Hearth from her first preference in the Dirt Mile leaves a spot open for either Karelian or Mr. Sidney, both of whose first choices are the Mile, or for Ready's Echo, who is pre-entered solely in the Dirt Mile.

Both are hopeless.

He was bred in ARG, so its more than likely he's not nominated. Given his last (where admittedly, he was banged around pretty good on the first turn), they probably aren't looking to shell out massive nomination fees.

However, I would give the horse a long look if he shows up a couple of weeks later in the Citation at Hollywood.
