Getting a head start on the winter. He's done this before. And considering how badly things were going off the lousy summer, it may be a smart move.

I recall him doing it in the past, but this early? Like you said, after a horrible summer, it's probably a smart idea. He should have no problem riding circles around the Wesley Henrys and Jocelyn Kennedys of the world.
