That throw and catch were about as good as it gets. There are only about 5 guys in the history of the NFL that can scramble like that and make that type of throw.

Favre can do things no other quarterback in the history of the game can do. If not for his frequent mistakes I would say he was the best ever. He certainly is the best of the last decade.

That's why they went through all the drama.

Let's not forget about the circus catch. That throw wouldve been forgotten about already had G. Lewis not tapped his toesies down. That play was more Lewis than Favre. Congrats G. Lew!

from what i'd heard, if you go by stats alone, favre is the best. but that doesn't tell the whole tale.

What stats are they? Interceptions and poor decisions? No chance his numbers are better the last decade. None.

Big ups to the hard luck Bengals on back to back impressive wins. Marv stayed the course and they look like they can play with just about anyone this year. Where's Whodey been?

ok, doing some searching and did find this:

Brett Favre (Falcons, Packers, 1991-2007)
All-time QB leader in virtually every category, including consecutive games started (253), wins (160), touchdowns (442), completions (5,377) and yardage (61,655).

according to wikipedia, the qb with the highest ever passer rating is steve young, followed by payton manning. not sure how up to date or correct that is tho.

I agree, as good of a throw it was, it was even a better catch.
Mikey, How many times did he make catches like that when he was an Eagle? I'm taking under 3.

2000-2009
Favre
Record 87-58
3061 - 4929 (62%)
34233 yards
229 TD
169 INT
84.5 rating

Manning
Record 101-43
3182 - 4852 (66%)
37754 yards
281 TD
122 INT
88.9 rating

I wont bother with Brady since Manning is a landslide winner over Favre

He said this decade. Favre has played a long time and is an all time great but isnt the best of the last decade or all time or really anything. Though he clearly is the best QB on the Vikings in 2009.

Under 3? I'd take under 1. He was, from time to time, able to hold onto a few of Don's not so accurate throws.

How bout that dropped pass in last years NFCCG on a beautifully drawn up play that had him jogging off the line of scrimmage only to blow right by Rod Hood? Dropped a sure thing, but holds onto today's pass. All is well though, as we unloaded him to NE for a 5th round pick, which turned into either S Macho Harris (a starter) or TE Cornelius Ingram (IR'd this year). I'm just not sure which.

Amazing that Favre has somehow morphed into an...underdog? I got a little teary when he led that last drive. i wanted it so bad for him. I spent most of his career criticizing all of his mistakes instead of appreciating the fact that he is part of that special breed. Favre is a true gamer.

I am glad he came back and I hope he leads the vikings deep into the playoffs. Where is sniper?

wow Favre is the best of the last decade?? Put down the crack pipe. He may have been in the top three for the 1990-2000 decade but he has been very overrated this decade. To say he's been better than Manning, Brady, or even Drew Brees or McNabb is just crazy.

Oh yeah, give me McNabb over Manning anyday. I would love to have a QB who plays only 60% of the time.
