Well, yeah. Besides all the yearlings in the sale sired by IC, that was the best bred horse in the entire sale.

pedigree-wise I would take the Justenuffheart (sold for 350K).

I think the breeding industry is starting to catch up to me from 1997 when I told Barry Irwin IC would be worth tens of millions of dollars one day and that he should put an offer in on him while he was still a two year old.

He said something to the effect that he is a calbred with the head of a donkey.

It seems likely now that more breeders see how important a sire and likely broodmare sire he's going to be. Only one other stallion this decade moves his mares up as well as he does (Distorted Humor being the other) and I suspect that his mares will start becoming a lot more sought after.

What he's done at stud so far is pretty amazing, considering that about 80-90% of the mares sent to him his first few years were either unraced or unplaced. Some crazy percentage anyways, if not quite that high.

So? The 2 mil sales topper does indeed have the best pedigree!

It was pretty scary around 11:00am - you could've fired a shotgun through there and not hit a soul. Got much better. Take out all of Sheik Mo's purchases over time. What a different industry this would be. I think he's personally holding this particular sale together so far.

The Moss's were there yesterday. Baffert all around today. Romans' was looking at several.

Maybe they are waiting for the peds to change in the next books - it is kinda heavy with AP Indy, Giant's Causeway, Distorted Humor, Bernardini, Storm Cat, Unbridled's Song, etc.

A good number of Baffert clients are there.
