I think we could call it a length and a half. But do the math, losses three on the turn, on the rail which was completely dead, loses by length and a half. If he was rolling on the turn he may have won the race.

or maybe not. the best horse won. musket man will win others, but i think the longer distances are what cost him in these last two-that and stiffer competition.

considering how the race unfolded, i thought rachel did just fine. someone wrote that the oaks was her best race, i thought saturday was. she had company throughout, and still prevailed while those who tried to run with her early all faded.

I just said that because of that one guy who keeps going on about Musket Man losing 3 lengths due to trouble, and how that would have enabled him to win.

yeah, i know. i'm surprised i didn't read a lot about MM being six wide in the derby coming 'round the far turn.
