You have to understand that this guy doesn't care about racing, or life for that matter, beyond the Hudson River. Hell of a handicapper, but if it ain't NYRA related, forget bout it! |

Lauren, Respectfully Andy cares more about racing, and bettors then anyone I have ever met. He has been an advocate of the bettor and the horseman for as long as I have known him. How you can possibly suggest anything to the contrary is slanderous and capcious... Look it's a harsh job market and if you were replaced or your position was eliminated you join millions of worthy hard working american people who find themselves in the same plight.. |

BTW Lauren DRF is a business and as a vendor who has sold merchandise to them for 15 years I am glad that they are running it as such. Newspapers and PP's are a dead business and folks are getting them in all different ways then they used too. The days of EXTRA EXTRA read all about it are DONE..
I know Serling to be a lot of things including ROUGH but never ever tells storys unless they are completely fit for print and one's that he is willing to put his name next too.. |

Respectfully you are right on Andrew's many attributes. The game is lucky to have a guy like him. It's his callousness towards anything non NYRA that is so irritating. When folks look to him for answers or commentary on the Derby, BC, Dubai, etc, it usually comes with an elitist, condescending, and apathetic answer. That's all. |

Edited press release Stonestreet Stables and partner Harold T. McCormick announced May 8 that Calvin Borel has agreed to ride Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Rachel Alexandra for the current racing season. Also, Stonestreet said it plans to run the filly in the May 16 Preakness Stakes (gr. I), contingent upon her continuing to train well up to the race. In making the decision, Borel selected the filly over Mine That Bird, whom he rode to an upset victory in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) and is being pointed toward the preakness. “It came down to the facts that he knows and loves this horse, that he knows how to get the most from her and he knows how to win,’’ said Jess Jackson of Stonestreet Stables and proprietor of Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates. “They were an amazing team at the Kentucky Oaks—winning by over 20 lengths. We think this is a perfect match of rider and horse.’’ Jackson said Rachel Alexandra will continue her workout schedule under trainer Steve Asmussen. “If she continues to be in perfect condition, our intention will be to run her in the Preakness,” Jackson said, adding that the final decision would be made next week.

I am against the Preakness for her, preferring the Belmont.
But if Pimlico can't get her into the field given its vague conditions, they are idiots and deserve to be out-of-business, which they are perilously close to already. |

Magna sucks. Pimilco sucked before Magna, and now have the Magna-suck layered on top. They are suck squared.

well we know that MINE THAT BIRD can run up the rail with Borel. Let's see if he can run Baltimore Harbor wide with Mike Smith.

Damn I missed that one but I'm having a hard time figuring out how it got from Calvin Borel off Bird for Rachel In Preakness to Madonna's hyperbaric chamber. |
