There was nothing wrong with Smith's ride. He had a horse with a bad foot.
Horse ran a damn good race, considering the foot. He was 2 clear at the top of the stretch, ran a mile in 1:35 despite being in obvious pain (gets out coming out of the turn pretty bad) and the pacesetters he was with finished last or close to last. Never liked UBS much but I have to give him credit.
