I can't speak for other tracks, but the absolute earliest all scatch information is available to be disseminated at NYRA is just past 10:30. Since early December, we have had the scratches available on the scratch line no later than 11am, and many days up to 10 minutes earlier. There were two days in the past week or so when the scratches came on just after 11, but the days of them being consistantly later were put behind us months ago.

Late scratches are part of the game, a necessary evil for handicappers so to speak, and we are doing whatever we can to make them available as soon as possible.

Odd random question... why does it seem there's always more scratches at NYRA than anywhere else? On a good weather day, So Cal there might be 2-3 non-AE's, KY similar, FL similar, NY averages closer to 6-8.

maybe scratch rules are different? maybe chuck knows.
