My two fondest memories of him are his call of last years WS win and his memorable call of a grand slam by Mickey Morandini in the 90's.

My phone hasn't stopped ringing since the news broke. Youtube and some cold ones tonight. His voice/calls were second to none.

RIP Harry.

I know exactly where you are coming from on the fond memories.

Some of my fondest memories growing up were hot summer nights with the sounds of Ernie Harwell coming from the kitchen where my Mom would have the Tigers game on her am radio. She always kept it loud enough so we could hear it throughout the house or through the open windows as we played in the yard. Ernie's signature call when there was a called thrid strike, "He stood there like a house by the side of the road."

Everytime I hear his voice, it brings me back.

I am very saddened by this news. Harry Kalas was THE voice of the Phillies. May he rest in peace and condolences to his family, friends and all his fans. We will miss him very much.

Not only was his work with the Phillies superb but his work with NFL Films was also legendary.
