my princess jess. she's one of several fillies/mares they've purchased from others after they had begun racing, and she moved barns to tagg...imo they're just looking for horses they feel are a good fit for them that can also be a good broodmare for their operation once they retire. i can't remember the last big purchase they made of a racing colt, only fillies such as precious kitten(she remained with frankel), MPJ and now this filly. they'll race her a bit, and then breed her.

I think there's one angle that is being missed or dismissed here. And that is some trainers do better with some horses.

You see it all the time in professional sports, tennis & golf especially. All of a sudden a average player shows great improvement when they change their coach. Sometimes it's a better match, some times the coach see things or stresses things the last coach didn't. Some times the player is just happier. Can horses be happier? Why not.

I'm not a horse man, but I would think if you listed all the things trainers do or can do, it would be a mighty long list, legal things that is.

My guess is horses that move forward, for the majority, are simply just that.

LOL, really? Because he looked pretty much like the same Chad I watched for six years. Dinked and dunked his way to 10-11 wins, then crapped the bed when he faced a good defense in the playoffs. When he stops being a dicktease and flaming out in January, then I'll agree that he "greatly improved."

wasn't it the consensus that he had a better year last year than he did in his years in new york? if not, my mistake.

There's also the nice sprinter Rollers.. They ran a maiden named Cozy Lion together that I noticed last week.

Darn you, I wanted to say Rollers!

Doesn't Lael keep 5-10 horses with all the trainers they use, with the exception of horses like Precious Kitten who they kept with Frankel?
