![]() While I appreciate the fair track, I still think that more variety would only make the racing better. And, let's face, there are as many bad horses running in NY than just about anywhere. The beaten lengths for some of these horses are worse than what happens over at TP, for example; which is about as bad as it gets.

![]() I'd like more at 9f but they have carded several 12f races and the configuation limits them to 6f for sprints. I'm not crazy about 5 1/2 f on dirt. It's a tough time of year to put together a card. I think they've done a decent job. Remember, short sprints (5, 5.5f) are harder on horses because they go faster and cheap horses don't hold up to that. Because of this horsemen don't like them unless they have a specialist at the distance.
