Hell no. My level of hatred for the Pats has never and will never be reached for any other team. I hate the Pats 364 days a year (I take a day off to reflect on my hatred). I still don't like the Steelers.

Um, no. I don't like any team that mysteriously has "fans" all over the country despite playing in a relatively insignificant city. Steeler fans who aren't from Pennsylvania are like Cowboy fans to me. It's almost as if they just started rooting for them because the Steelers were successful when they were young! That would be like me rooting for the Bulls. Plus Hines Ward is a douche and Roethlisberger is a moron.

LOL. This is a classic rant! I love it.

One thing about the Steelers though is that there was a time when many Pennsylvanians moved around the country as steel workers. That can explain part of the reason why there are so many steelers fans in places you wouldnt expect to find them.

In fairness, what if the steelers were good when you were young and you stayed a fan all the way through?

There are just a lot of pretty basic forms of life. You give them choices like Steel players, or Cowboy players.....They can't resist that.

It doesn't matter. I don't agree with rooting for a team you have no other connection to just because they're good. It's lame to me. Obviously if people grew up near Pittsburgh and then moved away, that makes sense, but I'm talking about the people born in raised in somewhere like Nevada who are "die hard" Steeler fans.

Wait..this is getting Scud like..Unless you live in or near an NFL city you aren't allowed to have a favorite team and cheer as hard as the guy who lives in New Orleans?

i leave 3hrs from pittsburgh but 90 min from baltimore. so i should root for the colts? who packed up and left in the middle of the night. i've been rooting for the Steelers and pirates since 1971, i was 7yrs old. my dad was colts and orioles fan and me rooting for the Black and Gold used to piss him off. after the colts left he's kinda adopted the Steelers. he can't stand the ravens and he's not much on the skins.
i guess i don't get your line of thinking.

I agree, but don't you love the Celtics? Do you just like them when they play the Lakers?

Actually I think ateam likes(ed) the Timberwolves.

And I take a bit of an exception of the illegal nature
of disregarding one's love of a team outside their hometown.
I took a fascination to the LA Rams when I was 8 years old
because of their helmets. I wrote members of the team
got autographed pictures back... I would buy the LA paper
at the airport, begged my Dad to take me so I could keep up.
ANd all I did was suffer. And get goaded by Cowboy fans.
I completely dropped the team when they moved to St. Louis.
Thus the Super Bowl win meant nothing to me.

I humbly petition that my past infatuation be granted as legitimate.

LOL...Some of that's because I bet them to win their division in 2006. I got like 6-1 or 7-1 at the Allstar break. You're right though, I used to like them from 2001-2006( when they still had Erstad n' Kennedy.) They played as a team. When those 2 got cut loose, they lost some intensity. They aren't as clutch in the post. I didn't care how they did the last 2 years. I guess it was more about the players than the organization. Anyways, I grew up halfway between Dodger Stadium, and the Big A. When the Dodgers play the Angels, it's not even close(want the Dodgers to win every game.) Ain't like I've ever pulled for a team that isn't within an hour's drive.

Did you ever think that people who move form the Pittsburgh area dont quit rooting for Pittsburgh? I used to live just over an hour away from Pittsburgh and I still root for threm. I live just over an hour from Houston and I refuse to root for the pathetic Texans. Im wondering what thier excuse will be this year if they have another pathetic season.

Also please do not associate us Steeler fans with the Cowboy fans. Our team doesnt fold in the months of December and January.

I've been a Steeler fan since that Super Bowl X win, so I guess I'm guilty.....as for your assessment of Ben & Hines, your entitled to your opinion....but I would feel the same way if I was a frustrated Jets fan! and I know a lot of them. You guys have gone through a lot of hand ringing since that Namath victory.
