![]() shocking news developing
![]() ![]() http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3818870 "I'm an emotional guy, and I'm sure people are tired of seeing me get emotional. People would probably say, 'Oh, here he goes again.' I think it would just better for me to just thank the Jets, and I sincerely mean that. It was well worth what I invested. But I'm going to just quietly step away if that's what happens." --Brett Favre I laughed |

We'll see how he does in the next few years. It doesn't appear that he has the will to win like the greats have. |

![]() retired finally. hope he stays that way.
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/colum...2&sportCat=nfl This article is so stupid. It starts off with: Maybe it was the cowardly teammate who anonymously ripped him in print. Maybe it was the absence of a game-breaking wide receiver or running back. Maybe it was the prospect of playing for a fourth different head coach in five years. How the fucl< is Thomas Jones not considered a game-breaking running back!?!?!? He had over 1300 yards this season! And you have Washington right behind him! And who wouldnt want Coles and Cotchery as your wide-outs!?!? They are as capible as anyone!! This author is stupid. And who is this Wojciechowski person? He looks EXACTLY like Dr. Green from ER... the one who died of a brain tumor. Is it the same guy? (i doubt it)

![]() Don't even waste your time Lori. The deifying of Favre in the media is as sure as the sunrise. The further we get from last season, the more people will overlook his 22 interceptions and distant attitude towards the team.
I'm very thankful that he's gone and more importantly, that he made a relatively timely decision. Obviously our QB position is unsettled, but I've been saying for a while that we don't need a superstar under center. I think Clemens or Ratty could be at least adequate, but if the organization doesn't think so, they now have the cap room to pursue a stopgap and still improve at other positions. Not that it means anything, but McShay has Sanchez going to the Jets at 17. This is better for the Jet offense, because as much as Schotty drives me nuts, he was hamstrung last year tailoring the offense to Favre. Now we can get back to running first, which Rex has committed to. Mainly I'm happy that it's now completely Rex's team rather than Favre's. Saddling Rex in his first year with a media darling larger-than-life QB prone to interceptions would've been disastrous. Now at least Rex has the reins, and he can succeed or fail on his own. There won't be any "what if?" questions. A fresh start. |
