the problem with USC is that as soon as they get out of SoCal, they fall apart. If they had to play a bowl game on a neutral field (or a road game), they'd look a whole lot worse.

The game I'd have wanted to see would have been USC-Tex, not Ok-Fl.... as Ok doesn't deserve it since Texas beat them.

Perfect reason for having a playoff, but there's so much $$ in the bowl system that none of the college presidents want to alter it.

1 game in 1 year is not consistancy. They were the best team that year and OU shouldn't have even played in that game.... if I remember right, they didn't even play in their conference champ game, but got in the nat champ game, which should NEVER happen.

My two cents:

The Pac Ten has clearly shown that they are better than they are given credit for being. I think the Big 12 has done nothing so far but prove Morty right. They play no defense.

I dont buy that USC can't win on the road. I think one would have a difficult time backing up that statement. They have lost 16 games in the Pete Carroll era. 16 games and they only lost by double figures 1 time. They beat hammered a good arkansas team a few years back at Arkansas if I remember. They consistently dominate their own conference and half their games are on the road. I just dont see it.

USC can play with any team in the country. Period. If USC were to play either one of those teams in the National championship, what do you think the spread would be?

Having said all that, Florida and Oklahoma are in fair and square by the rules that are in place. Are the rules without flaw? No, this system is messed up. But it is what it is and based on that the two correct teams are there.

they showed it in vegas

USC would be favored over any team in the country
including Florida and OU (not that it matters)

i don't want to hear well 'bama lost to utah cuse they didn't have their left tackle - if the sec and bama are dominant they s/b able to dominate utah and the game shouldn't even be close with or without 1 starting OL out

Bama does not have the depth (right now) of usc, fla and texas. sure Bama can lose tonight. IF Bama plays the the way they played clemson, uga, auburn, it shouldn't be close.... if they play like they did against ole miss. it will be close.

don't foreget LSU won 2 nat's titles in their home away from home - the sugar bowl - it ain't exactly like they went out west to the fiesta bowl or rose bowl to win -
