I don't like Biden...the guy is a pr*ck, plain and simple. Im just stating IMO that picking someone like him, as a long time "insider" makes more sense for the Democratic Party than someone with little experience in and around Washington, like Kaine or Bayh.

I'm not a Joe Biden historian, so I am open to hearing why Biden is so disliked by a few here(already)

Isn't he a McCain personal friend, as are the Clintons?

you say "already" like he is fresh face that we have to get to know. he's disliked because he comes a cross as a pompous knowitall who like to think he's the smartest guy in the room. he's nasty and sarcastic and at the same time has a phony smile on his face.

why don't you ask democrats why they didn't like Biden in the primary. he basically had no impact. Biden has never made a ripple on the national scene, yet Obama bypasses Clinton, who he barely beat for the nomination and has rabid national support, for a guy who scored a zero in the primary.

arljim, I said "already" in reference to this thread, and to several people "already" weighing in with a big negative on Biden with only a handful of responses given at this time.

What politicians do some of you guys "like". If you like either of the Bush's or Cheney, I doubt we can have a constructive conversation because I find support for that trio, in any form, politically or personally, unimaginable.

I do like some aspects of McCain's personality, though I wouldn't want him to be President

I was actually a fan of what Mark Warner was able to accomplish as Gov. of Virginia.

well i guess we can't have a constructive conversation for some reason, because i do like Dick Cheney quite a bit. politically and personally, and i have no problem with either of the Bushes personally although neither was a favorite politically.

That's okay, ARLJIM, we can still talk horses on other threads.

Communication can be a bit "funny" sometimes with strangers in a chat room/internet forum. Perhaps I overstated my ability to civilly discuss politics with a Bush-Cheney supporter

I can always put up a multitude of polls on some category here on DT, find out where we all stand on issues like abortion, gay marriage, death penalty, etc.

I might be able to have a pleasant afternoon with "W.", but even at my calmest, I still think I'd take a swing at Cheney

Red face

I know better than to get into a political discussion here....just mark me down as one vote for Obama.

Biden is perfect.
He can play the attack dog while Obama remains above the fray.
Biden will go after anybody with gusto.
Classic nice guy bad guy ticket.

Covers the foreign affair hole.

Cool

Ike was the man...he got away with having a mistress for most of his life while slick Willie caught hell for one little knob job!

I have a jaded view of most politicians, especially career politcians like Biden. IMO they are self-seeking egomaniacs that quickly lose sight of the things that really matter and tend to forget the reasons they were elected, which is to serve others.

yes, McCain is a personal friend with almost all of the GOP enemies.
ie McCain is a dem. He should have been recalled years ago

Aha.
The real conservatives speak.

Wingman this is the big question:

Will you vote for McCain or sit this one out?
