Is there anything more bizzare than the scoring system in olympic boxing?

the bouts I've seen, this is totally stupid. guys beating the crap out of each other with no points scored????? this needs redone quick.

I'm just curious about something and don't really wanna start a(nother) Olympics thread.....

Who do you all root for? The USA in every single event? The cutest team?

USA, unless not in the event, then Slovakia (family's heritage).

USA of course unless absolutely no chance to medal, or not in the event. And then it depends on many different things, sometimes including the cute factor....

I watched the winter olympics in Canada once while skiing in Banff and staying at a friends home, it was kinda wierd being the only American.

11am friday on tv and internet track and field opens. 100m qualifying opens friday morning.
i don't see tyson gay winning it. his hamstring is worse than he is letting on. IMO. actually i'll be surprised if he makes the finals.

The judges sit in different areas, too. So only one may have a good angle to see the hit. It's crazy. The rule is that the white part of the glove has to land in the front of the head or body without touching any part of the other person's gloves, arms, etc first. I have no idea how these people can see something that's happening that quick. I've been watching a lot of the boxing on Universal HD, and the problems with the scoring haven't created any controversial winners yet, but it's only a matter of time.

i agree!! both summer and winter. would do away with that ridiculous figure skating for one!


i mean, synchronized swimming? who cares?! which one of the swimmers is faster? and don't even get me started on sync diving....

USA men's soccer lost to Nigeria and is OUT of the olympic tourny......LOL... soccer still sucks.

basketball, fencing, handball, field hockey, USA-Canada woman's softball, water polo, greco-roman wrestling.
