So you're saying Curlin is the only horse of import that'll skip the BC because of surface? I'd be pretty surprised if that ended up being the case, considering the whole "it makes good horses look average and average horses look good" perception. You think Larry Jones is itching to run Proud Spell over Pro-Ride after how she ran on the poly?

I asked who would skip the Classic because of the surface. You came up with Pyro. Fine, if he is important than fine. Who else?

We had the same stuff after the Pacific Classic when everyone went crazy because Student Council won. My take was that it was a terrible field regardless of surface. I will go out on a limb and say that is entirely possible this year not because of the surface but because there are seemingly no good horses anyway outside of Curlin.

I said Pyro half-jokingly, because I know how much some people despise the horse. I also gave you Proud Spell as a possibility. Not sure what your definition of "matter" is, so I'm not gonna go further. The point is it'll be interesting to see who skips the BC, even if there aren't a hundred horses who do so.

On the contrary when there are no standouts, fields tend to get larger because every owner thinks their horse has a shot. Of course if the BC would spend a few dollars to help lower the shipping costs for East coast and midwest horses they would surely get a few more entries.

This is real sharp Chuck... I own a horse who is capable of running in the breeder cup but I dont think I will ship him or her because it will cost 3k all in..

I didn't know race horse owners shop at Family Dollar especialy the ones whos charges have made significant money on the track making them elidgible to compete in the Breeders Cup..

"Hey Ogden" You need 3k to ship Receipt in the Filly race...Yo Ms Webber let me toss you 30 Benny's... your kidding right even DrugS could ship a potential BC horse
