Exactly. That is why I will think it is so great if it ends up being horses like Go Between and Student Council locked in a battle for a purse of that size.

I would love it if the Breeders' Cup somehow became about as important to the racing year as the Sunshine Millions is right now. While I am well aware of the fact that it will never actually happen that way, I have to admit to taking some level of delight in watching the Breeders' Cup REALLY self-destruct over the last few years. Curlin skipping it would be one more thing I could delight in.

We may agree that the BC has hurt much of the fall schedule but the BC is making lots of money, therefore it is not really self destructing. We may not like what they are doing but they are figuring out that corporate = and fans are fickle.
