and i thought pyros races earlier this year were pretty good-albeit not terribly fast. but no one has been all year. at least pyro put several good ones together, rather than a one and done. but we'll see how Unbridleds heart and harlem do next out....

as an aside....i found it interesting that every horse who has come back from the peter pan has won next out-they mentioned it on hrtv.

I'm pretty sure that's not true. . .

dunno, didn't go fact-check it, but that's what stevens and pincay said. of course, doesn't mean it's true either!

Ready's Echo (3rd in the Peter Pan) didn't win next out unless I'm forgetting something. . . and the winner obviously hasn't run again yet. That leaves Golden Spikes and Mint Lane and maybe some other also rans. . .

yeah, they mentioned that it was a shame that casino had to scratch from the belmont. it was after golden spikes win that they mentioned it, but perhaps they weren't thinking about the whole peter pan field when they said it.

Ready's Echo was 3rd in the Belmont. Spark Candle got beat bad in the Hill Prince. Mint Lane won yesterday. Tomcito and Casino Drive haven't started again. Not sure about Cosmic or anything else from there.

why was Recapturetheglory so far off the pace today? I thought he had some speed to him.

i think you'll find his illinois derby run/win an aberration. he hadn't done anything leading up to that race of note, and i don't think he will after.

Well, they more IMPRESSIVELY BOMBED next out is probably more accurate.

Just like Pyro did in the Bluegrass and Derby, right? Look - obviously Pyro's done more from an accomplishment standpoint than Harlem Rocker and definitely more than U's Heart who may just not be that good. And he was my second choice in the Derby. . . But, at least the other two (maybe just HR) have a chance to be very good - unlike Pyro - who clearly has a ceiling at this point (somewhere around a 95 beyer).
