What would David Hofmans know? Randy Moss said it was worse and that's that!!!!!! He is an expert you know...

i still like moss' capping, but he's been a bit screwbally lately-the 1/4 crack talk on top of the whip comments a few weeks ago.
i never have cared for the gnome sitting on his high chair next to him tho....

He is one of the few guys on air that have a clue from a handicapping standpoint but he has been awfully agenda driven lately and more often than not is using myths and misconceptions as the basis for his stances.

i wonder why. i really do. but then zito did say today that he also would like to see them do away with the whip. that wasn't long after johnnie v won without his-not that it mattered with zaftig anyway, she was much the best in that race.

but i bet cauthen was glad to have one in the belmont a few years back!!

Jerry Bailey said the same thing about whips. I wish they would get rid of the whips too. They don't allow whips in the 2 furlong two-year old races out here.

Getting rid of whips is something I simply cant understand. Use softer whips? Ok. Enforce the whip abuse rules? Sure. Get rid of them? That is too drastic of a change to the sport, it just is. It will not improve business and may well hurt it. Then what?

That would be a good option. They could use softer whips. But I really don't think that eliminating whips would be so drastic that it would hurt business. I don't hear anyone complaining that they don't use whips in the 2 furlong two year old races out here. I bet there are plenty of people that haven't even noticed.
