![]() I love turf racing a million times better than dirt. I tend to handicap them much better too.

![]() I love whatever racing I happen to be cashing a ticket on. Not partial to grass or dirt. As long as I'm heading to the window after the race and not to Cash Call

![]() oh sure the excitement of knowing you are gonna cash is a rush. I am talking strictly from a no - gambling point of view.
i guess, in short, i have become a lover of turf racing and am losing interest every weekend in dirt. it seems turf racing is just a whole lot more exciting, especially as they make the turn for home. |

![]() I thought the race that Borel won on Seek Gold was pretty exciting because he was such a bomb. . . can't remember what race it was though. . . it was much more exciting because I didn't bet on it. . .

![]() Well, I don't really agree.
Ther's a world of difference between dirt and turf in terms of riding styles and the way the horses are trained for each. The similarity is that on dirt, the back stretch is key. If they are used up there, they are cooked early. Same in a turf race, that's why you see the jock's take a strangle hold. They save the horse for the last furlong and make a dash. The style of dirt races allows for horses to have very different running styles and remain competitive. I've seen both great dirt and turf races, so there isn't one type that's preferable to me. ![]() turf racing many times is more exciting because there tends to be so many horses still in it at the end....a mad rush to the wire, who got the head bob?!

![]() Turf racing involves way more luck and trips. Dirt racing traditionally favors the best horse. Not as big of fields and less trouble. Anyone who thinks that you have to be soooo lucky in a turf race is kidding themselves.
