Watch it a few more times and then if nothing changes go see your optometrist. CQ was coming out of his fuc%$in skin on the backstretch. It was apparent that he was the one to beat. The blinks obviously focused him.

Here's what GG said:
"He was up in the bridle," said Garrett Gomez, who rode Circular Quay. "I was very surprised. I was happy, but at the same time, I wasn't liking where he was putting me between the five-eighths and the half-mile pole. I didn't want to let him go. I was hoping [Magna Graduate] would clear, then I was able to ease him out."

MOTO here, but, I think the race would of had a different pace scenerio if Lanerie hadn't got dumped. Who knows may of set-up even more for CQ.

I think Robbie knew GH would come back on CQ when CQ made the lead, he just didn't plan on CQ having the last laugh. Nor did I, thought that GH had the little horse everyone loves to hate right where he wanted him.

i agree. silver lord out of it changed the complexion of the race. regardless, a good race back for cq, and a heck of a run by both him and the second place finisher.

It was skinda funny how the horse just stood there after CL fell off like a drunk cowboy. At least they will be able to run him back whenever, instead of him running off for 2 miles.

For anyone who wants to watch a funny reaction from a horse after the gates open, pull up Ma's Meatballs last race at Turfway on Jan. 9.

My feeling is that some people just don't want to admit that Grasshopper isn't particularly good.

This race was f-d up from the start. If Lanerie doesn't get tossed, Silver Lord likely is on an easy lead.
