Why not be more selective and keep the BETTER races on SINCE the turf is usable. One or so every couple of days would make sense.

Maybe, and I say just maybe, they cancel turf racing on the days when they feel the turf is not in proper shape and/or is not safe for racing, instead of when they have low class races scheduled on the turf. However, without a strong background in track maintenance, I am unable to definitively say whether or not class of racing carded should be the overriding factor in deciding when to take races off the turf, as you seem more than qualified to say.

After the weather there the last two weeks, I'm more than happy to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Just thinking out loud here.
