Yes, but he's a breathtaking horse anyway; the most striking one I've ever seen. I'm still stunned, to be honest. I think I'll feel truly happy a bit later, lol

He didn't beat anyone? Ugh, I knew this was going to happen. Sunriver is a nice horse, a very nice horse, and people were talking up Minister's Bid before the race. If Bernardini beat lousy horses, then what did Barbaro do? I don't think there were any great horses in the Derby.........but that doesn't take away from his performance. Very good to potentially great horses make good ones look bad sometimes.

Betsy, I'm with you; I think it was a really exciting race and I can't wait for his next one. Already I'm feeling the "I hope they race him at 4" worries...

Not doing that, but I'm not going to put a damper on my excitement because there is still a lot of racing to do. That's a given - I'm not thinking ahead more than a few hours, to be honest - I just want to enjoy the hear and now.

This horse will be back at 4. He has the Dubai race all over him.

I'm also thrilled. But if he wins the Travers and does decently in the BC, don't expect to see him run as a 4yo. Too valuable to risk.

Which makes me so crazy-- he's owned by the frackin' Arabs! It's not like they need the money or anything, and they can certainly afford the insurance costs to keep him racing. Ah well.
