He is probably the best horse we have seen in a long long time. Horse of the Year.

I'm very impressed...Javier did great on him.

I keep saying to myself 'O my God' - I'm completely stunned. I really don't know what else to say except that I have never seen a horse win like that in my life. I knew it was over when Minister's Bid closed to within about a length of Bernardini and JC hadn't moved a muscle. So much for my worry about the colt handling a sloppy track....AND he did it on the lead. I'm kind of on cloud 9 right now..........

A very great horse and if anyone says he didn't beat anyone there were 9 lengths behind hime for them to fit between him and the next horse....oh yea, and he didn't even ask the horse. Very nice to see!

It was impressive in that he beat a bunch of sad horses. In fact he destroyed them, but i'm not a big fan of 5 horse races. He got the trip he wanted on the path he wanted and no one really presured him. I look foward to seeing him in the travers.

How lovely to get to see races like that. Just makes you catch your breath, doesn't it? Did you see Javier hugging his neck after the race?

He knew he was so far ahead that he could jog home...didn't see the whip.

Yes, but he's a breathtaking horse anyway; the most striking one I've ever seen. I'm still stunned, to be honest. I think I'll feel truly happy a bit later, lol

He didn't beat anyone? Ugh, I knew this was going to happen. Sunriver is a nice horse, a very nice horse, and people were talking up Minister's Bid before the race. If Bernardini beat lousy horses, then what did Barbaro do? I don't think there were any great horses in the Derby.........but that doesn't take away from his performance. Very good to potentially great horses make good ones look bad sometimes.

Betsy, I'm with you; I think it was a really exciting race and I can't wait for his next one. Already I'm feeling the "I hope they race him at 4" worries...

he barely broke a sweat, certainly found his stride today.

but don't go giving out hoy yet. still plenty of racing still to come folks!

Which makes me so crazy-- he's owned by the frackin' Arabs! It's not like they need the money or anything, and they can certainly afford the insurance costs to keep him racing. Ah well.

Not doing that, but I'm not going to put a damper on my excitement because there is still a lot of racing to do. That's a given - I'm not thinking ahead more than a few hours, to be honest - I just want to enjoy the hear and now.

it's a shame he'll probably only put on a show two more times, the travers and the bcc...

This horse will be back at 4. He has the Dubai race all over him.

the sheik owns darley at jonabell and wants to be a breeding force in america. i see this horse being there next spring, not dubai. and not anywhere near a track.
