In Nevada and New Jersey for example, I think gambling machine state law mandates a house payout of 17%, or something like that. But in South Carolina in those years it was totally legal to own a gambling machine and let people play with NO PAYOUT at all. Suffice to say much $$ was taken from unsuspecting people and less than informed gamblers. The law changed again to outlaw back around 1999 or 2000. Now the "wink and a nod" thing is back in parts of the state. But, not legal.

Correct westcoast and what was kinda funny was it was all located and all happened right in the bak drop of PTL - Jim and Tammy Baker. It was like the area was a battle of good and evil.
It was called little Vegas and as you point out suckers from all over would flock in and loose big money. Three miles from my house. Thanks for the info on gaming. I will keep all in mind. I do have an "illegal" account put it just so hard to fund. Spyder
